本案為高雄市立美術館既有展覽空間的改造設計，將現況老舊的展覽空間更新以符合當代藝術展示的多元需求。
當前展覽空間的尺度無法帶出寬闊且高挑的空間感受。利用提升天花的高度，並加上穿過天井的日光設計帶來優雅舒適的環境光以塑造出展覽空間應有的開闊感。
三米乘三米面積且一米深度的井格天花是來自於原始建築的結構樑系統，我們利用它成為本設計裏最顯著的空間韻律。如此強烈的方格群漂浮於頭頂上方四米高處，並且有日光交錯其中，使得整體天花帶來格外的沈穩寧靜氛圍。
白色牆面以及帶有些許光澤的灰色地板，安靜沈穩地接待上方顯著的格井天花。
展覽空間的設計表達極簡主義的現代感，而擁有 Botticino 石材鋪面的挑空大廳帶來些許古典韻味，介於展覽空間與挑空大廳的過道，是這兩種品味的過渡。此處設計手法以簡約風格為基調，蜻蜓點水的加入黃銅色澤的鎳銀金屬元素作為古典韻味在極簡空間裡的點綴。這些點綴，也柔和的穿梭在古典感的挑空大廳裡。
此設計競圖案與蔡嘉豪建築師事務所共同合作參與。

This project is a renovation of the existing exhibition space at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. It updates the aging facilities to meet the diverse requirements of contemporary art display.
The scale of the current exhibition space fails to provide a sense of openness and height. By raising the ceiling height and introducing sunlight through skylights, we create elegant and comfortable ambient light, establishing the spaciousness essential for an exhibition space.
The 3-meter by 3-meter wide and 1-meter deep coffered ceiling is derived from the original structural beam system; we utilized it as the most distinct spatial rhythm in this design. This intense grid pattern floats four meters overhead, with sunlight interweaving through it, lending the overall ceiling an exceptionally stable and tranquil atmosphere. The white walls and slightly glossy grey floors quietly and steadily receive the prominent coffered ceiling above.
The design of the exhibition space expresses a minimalist modernity, while the high-ceilinged lobby, paved with Botticino stone, brings a touch of classical charm. The corridor between the exhibition space and the lobby serves as a transition between these two styles. The design approach here is based on a minimalist style, with subtle touches of brass-colored nickel silver added as classical accents within the minimalist space. These accents also softly weave through the classical atmosphere of the lobby.
This design competition project was a collaboration with B+PORT ARCHITECTS & PLANNERS.
